We would like to Thank all the Pilots, Helpers and most of all the Visitors who made this years

Southern Model Airshow the biggest and best yet ! An early count up shows how popular the show has become. Even in today's environment, the number of visitors was again up on previous years.
As soon as the crew get back from site (and have a sleep!) we will post some pictures of the highlights of the show but for the moment, please feel free to post your comments and thoughts on our Comments Page, the organisers read all of the comments and the best will be posted on the site.

More news just in, we are pencilled in for the 18th and 19th September 2010, we will confirm this date as soon as we have the final OK from the Hop Farm but get it in your diary now..

Bring and Buy

Old air frames cluttering up the hanger?, Need to clear some room in the workshop ? rather than leaving all your unused items to gather dust, why not bring them to the Bring and Buy and let us sell them for you ?
This years Bring and Buy is bigger than ever and will be open for the entire duration of the show (both days).  If you want to book anything in, please have a look at the Bring and Buy page and download the booking in form..

Trade Line Bookings

Trade line bookings are now closed - All pitches have been sold.
This years trade line is looking to be the biggest and best ever with confirmed bookings up on all other years. Even with the extended and enlarged trade areas, we only have a few places left.
This is not only good news for the show but excellent news for anyone attending the 2009 show as, being the last major show of the season, there will be bargains galore.

Only a couple of weeks to go !

The 2009 Southern Model Airshow is nearly upon us so make sure the 19th & 20th September is date marked in red and big writing in your diaries.  It comes around quicker every year - especially to the organisers !!!

The Hop Farm itself has been steadily increasing and updating it's attractions with even more for the family to do and once again the Croydon Airport Model Flying Club is being joined by the Cygnets Model Boat Club, the Dover Bashers RC Car Club, the UK Tank club, the Kent Kit Car club, the Darlek Builders Guild plus more than 50 70 traders to give us a show that we can be proud of and one that we hope you will enjoy.

As usual, requests to fly from Pilots has Far outstripped the slots, the pyrotechnics are being prepared and the full size displays being honed.

2009 Dates Announced

We have now confirmed with the Hop Farm that the Southern Model Airshow 2009 will be
on 19th & 20th September 2009.

The organising team are having a couple of months off but we'll be releasing more
details and start taking trade/pilot bookings from Feb - ish !
For 2009, all general camping will be booked directly with the Hop Farm.

From those visitors that we have spoken to - 99% were in favour of the new layout.
I'll be surprised if we go back to the old way but if anyone has any strong views
and haven't let us know already please do.
